27 February 2010 - COURSE - Clay Imprints - April 26th 2010

Baby and Children imprints into clay is a simple one-step process to capture a unique stage in a child's life.
Easier than prints on bisque to get a good print of a young baby's hand.
Learn how to prepare the clay, how best to dry and fire it.
How to programme your kiln to fire the delicate finished pieces.
Experiment with different decoration techniques.
This product fits very well with Ceramic Studio businesses and brings an excellent return on a negligible set up cost.
This course is a half day and is FREE to Studio Bisque customers with a monthly sales record. Other clients welcome for a £20.00 charge.

5 February 2010 - The Princess and The Frog

The new Disney film is due to be released and as ever it is bound to stimulate interest in bisque pieces themed around the main characters, so why not treat yourself to a new frog or two - and maybe a princess too.
Be sure to add some painted pieces to your window display for maximum effect.

Our New range of PICTURE THIS tiles and coasters are designed for those customers who are not confident artists. How many times do we hear " Oh I can't paint - I'm not artistic". Our range of tiles have a fired-on design, just ready to "colour in".

The design is already fired on, so it won't smudge, run or bleed.

Our top quality Clay Carbon is just £1.20 for a pack of 12 A4 sheets. Why pay more?

Clay carbon will help you transfer any printable image onto your bisque, with no glaze resistance problems caused by ordinary carbon paper.

Just print onto the sheet of clay carbon, place on your bisque and trace over. It will give you a clear grey/blue trace to follow, which will disappear on wetting or firing - the easy way for you and your customers to transfer designs

The design is already fired on, so it won't smudge, run or bleed.

First to be launched are our set of 4 round coasters entitled "Bug Life" and a set of 4 square 10cm tiles entitled "Animal Friends". (Both sets pictured)

COMING SOON: 6 inch square tiles on a "buildings" theme, and 6 inch round tiles called simply " favourites". More seasonal ranges and individual tiles will be available during 2010.

Designed for those who want to explore clay work with children.
How to market and promote your offerings, both to organsiations and individuals.
Equipment, technical issues with clay and how to fire greenware.
Lastly 6 sample projects, and what results to expect.
We will be working with clay on this course, to give you a good understanding of the basic techniques involved in handbuilding.
The course will run 10am to 4pm and include lunch and refreshments.
